The US Finally Admits Cannabis Kills Cancer Cells

The US government did the humanity a huge favor by conducting a research on cannabis. The research was to actually prove the previous claims that cannabis does not have any positive medical effects and therefore should not be used in therapeutic purposes.

In fact, its main aim was to discourage cannabis’ usage in curing cancer. Nevertheless, the research did not go as planned, and it actually proved the opposite thing – that cannabis kills cancer cells.

The research was conducted at St. George’s University of London by a team of scientists and it was found that THC and CBD (tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol) ) debilitated cancer cells thus making them ‘vulnerable’. In other words, they were made more susceptible to radiation treatment.

According to the study, even the most severe types of brain cancer can be drastically reduced when the radiation therapy is combined with cannabinoids (CBD).

Another study that was conducted back in November 2014, has proven the same point. The lead researcher of that research, Dr. Wai Liu for The Washington Post said that the results are promising and that it “could provide a way of breaking through glioma [tumors] and saving more lives.” He also stated that with their study they proved that “cannabinoids could play a role in treating one of the most aggressive cancers in adults.”

According to the NIDA report marijuana can also kill certain cancer cells, or at least reduce their size. The animal studies help in proving that. It the report it is stated: “Evidence from one animal study suggests that extracts from whole-plant marijuana can shrink one of the most serious types of brain tumors. Research in mice showed that these extracts when used with radiation, increased the cancer-killing effects of the radiation.”

And to make things clear, all of the studies are done by using cannabis and marijuana oil.

To sum up, these studies are a huge step in medicine, as they can help doctors to save thousands of human lives.
