If we stop using sugar in our diet, it can have the same effect on the body as the cessation of drug use, according to the newest findings of scientists.
Research has shown that consumption of industry processed sugar increases the levels of dopamine in a similar way as that is made by drugs such as cocaine.
It also showed that long-term consumption of sugar causes people to import more sugar in order to achieve the same degree of pleasure or to avoid a milder form of depression.
Researchers concluded that the same drugs used to treat nicotine addiction can be used for sugar.
According to research by Australian scientists, people who are dependent on sugar should be treated as addicts.
