A research conducted by scientist from the University of Medical Sciences in Iran proved the effect that one simple spice has on losing weight.
The research was conducted on 2 groups of people. Each of them contained 44 overweight women. For 3 months these groups had consultations about healthy diet. Their menu was made by nutritionists and it was made of less than 500 calories per day. There was only one difference between the groups. One of the groups consumed 140 ml yogurt mixed with cumin powder, and the other consumed the same amount of yogurt but without the spice.
After 3 months the first group that was consuming cumin lost around 14 kilograms unlike the second group. The main point is that the members in the first group lost 14, 64% more fat than those in the second group who lost only 4, 91% fat.
