Here’s Why You Should Leave A Coin In The Freezer, Every Time Before You Leave The House. Amazing!

Have you ever came home after the long day at work and noticed that your digital clock is showing the wrong time?

“Certainly there was no power outage!” – you say to yourself. Even if it was, you cannot know how long exactly there was not electricity, right ?

Maybe that was happening for a few days, which leaded to defrost food and its deterioration. But, when electricity comes back, the foods freeze again, and you almost cannot notice that they have been thawed.

But, we all know that it can be very dangerous, as some foods can spread salmonella and some other bacteria as well.

In this article, we are going to show you how to find out if and for how long your freezer has been without electricity. You can also find out if the food can be still consumed or it was too long in the warm.

You will need the following:

a cup;

coin;

water.

What should you do?

First, pour water in a bowl and put it in the freezer in order to freeze. When the water is freeze already, put a coin on the top of the ice of the cup and return it back to the freezer.

When you come back home, for example after the holidays, before taking some food from the freezer, look where the coin is.

When the coin is till on the top or maybe in the middle of the ice cubes in the cup, it can mean that there was not a power failure or there was but for short period. So, because of that the water was only partly melted.

But, when the coin is in the bottom of the cup, it means that there was electricity failure, but for longer period. So, the water dissolved completely and the coin sinked all the way to the bottom. For that reason, we recommend you not to eat the foods from the freezer.

It is very simple and useful trick. It is easy to use, especially when you go to some long trip.
