Those nasty little creatures that hate the light can really piss you off. It is really hard to get rid of them, because there is hardly a place where they could not crawl.
And when you finally decide to go to the market and buy one of those bug-killers sprays or any other anti-cockroaches’ products, you realize that they are not as good as you have expected. In most of the cases they will solve the problem but almost temporarily. Besides, they are all based on heavy chemicals (they kill creatures after all) and they are hazardous to your health, and they usually have awful smell which stays for hours.
But don’t be desperate. Fortunately, there is much cheaper product which is not hazardous at all and will help you to get rid of these insects quick and forever. Continue reading this article if you want to know the recipe which was claimed to be the best way to get rid of cockroaches.
And here is the recipe:
First, take an egg and separate the white from the yolk. You will just need the yolk for these mixture. Then put the yolk in a container and then pour 30-50grams of boric acid powder (borax) over it. Then stir the ingredients well until you get a slurry mixture.
Second, you should make small balls with diameter about 1 cm out of this mixture. when you finish leave the balls to dry out. Then place these balls all over the house in the corners of the rooms. Pay special attention to your bathroom and kitchen since these are the places which cockroaches love most and put more of the balls there.
The most important thing is “to think as a cockroach”. You should put the balls in every corner when you think they will see them. Another clever thing is to put them on those places where you have seen cockroaches before. That includes wardrobes, shelves, racks etc. The acid in the balls is not dangerous or humans and animals, so you could place them anywhere and you do not have to worry if you pet swallow one, or if your kids touch them.
At first, you might not feel the effect. But leave the balls in place. After several (2-3) days they will do wonders. You will be cleaning a lot of dead cockroaches (of course if you had a lot of them at the first place). And you will completely destroy them to the last one.
However, they might reappear in 6 months in case a female bug has laid eggs. If this happens you know what you have to do. Just put the balls back in place.
Lastly, as we mentioned before, you have to know that the boric acid is not hazardous at all. It is not toxic and it is commonly used for disinfection. The 3% boric acid is also used as an eye wash solution (this acid is also known as acidiborici). And if you cannot find the boric acid powder in the stores, you could always go for the 3% solution which you could find in almost every pharmacy at a convenient price.
